After four games on the road, Longmont is heading back home. They will take on the Evergreen Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Longmont didn't have too much trouble with Summit on the road as they won 47-33. 47 seems to be a good number for Longmont as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Longmont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaila Patterson out in front who scored 18 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Patterson scored 15 or more points. Savannah Pohl was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Evergreen entered their tilt with Denver North with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Evergreen enjoyed a cozy 48-32 victory over Denver North on Tuesday. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 28% better than the opposition, as Evergreen's was.
Evergreen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison McEvers led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mary Cox, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Longmont's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Evergreen, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Longmont didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Evergreen in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory.
