This season hasn't been kind to the Meadowbrook Colts, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crooksville on Friday. Meadowbrook was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Crooksville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Despite the loss, Meadowbrook saw an underclassman step up: Bentley Sedor dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Sedor scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Masyn Campbell, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Meadowbrook were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meadowbrook's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Crooksville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meadowbrook will challenge Morgan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crooksville, they will head out on the road to face off against Coshocton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Coshocton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
