The Solebury Spartans will take on the South Hunterdon Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Solebury is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over Morrisville on Wednesday. The Spartans not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28, 2025 (when they won 20-9).
Solebury got a massive performance out of Brett Prester, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI Prester has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Justin Liu, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
Solebury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South Hunterdon waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 12-5 win.
JACK BUDREWICZ made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of South Hunterdon's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). BUDREWICZ was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, TREVOR LINGERFIELD was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for South Hunterdon: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. BRENDAN PACIULLI was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Solebury's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for South Hunterdon, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
