The Whitewater Whippets will head out on the road to face off against the Delavan-Darien Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Whitewater's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Whitewater pushed their score all the way to 82 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of St. Francis by a score of 85-82. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), Whitewater still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, even though Evansville scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Delavan-Darien still came out on top. Delavan-Darien secured a 61-57 W over Evansville.
Whitewater has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Delavan-Darien, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Whitewater strolled past Delavan-Darien in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 62-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitewater since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
