Queensbury won the last time they faced Gloversville and Madelynn Murray did her part to make sure it happened again. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 55-30 margin over the Huskies/Dragons on Thursday thanks in part to Murray, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 16 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 51.9% field goal percentage.
The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Jones, who posted eight points and five rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Several Huskies/Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Brown, who scored 14 points and three steals. Bailey Pierce was another key player, putting up four points.
The victory got Queensbury back to even at 2-2. As for Gloversville, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Coming up, Queensbury will be home for the holidays to greet Hudson Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gloversville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lansingburgh at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
