Given Abbeville Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Lakeside School is ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Abbeville Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Javarse Turner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Turner is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Buckhannon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Abbeville Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-7. As for Lakeside School, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Abbeville Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Ezekiel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ezekiel Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Lakeside School, they will head out on the road to take on Chambers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
