Greenwood has gone a perfect 3-0 against Aiken recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Eagles will square off against the Fighting Green Hornets at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Greenwood made easy work of Woodmont and carried off a 7-1 win.

The team relied heavily on Will Bice, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Greenwood: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 5-8 otherwise. Triston Lewis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Greenwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aiken). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Midland Valley 13-12. The win was nothing new for the Fighting Green Hornets as they're now sitting on four straight.
Tyler Tindall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Luke Warren was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Logan Rarey, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Greenwood is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Aiken, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Greenwood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Aiken struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Greenwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Aiken in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
