The Drummond Trojans waltzed into their match Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They rang in the new year with a 40-30 win over Powell County. That's another feather in the cap for Drummond, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Drummond got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexi Nelson out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. Nelson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Remington Cline was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Drummond won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Helena Christian at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th. Powell County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Loyola-Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
