Macomb Area - Gold recap November 5, 2013
St. Clair scaled the state rankings by moving to 130 from 160 this week, the biggest jump in Macomb Area - Gold. The Saints were able to move up by beating Old Redford Academy 47-14.
St. Clair took down the Ravens 47-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Marysville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Josh Smith threw for 28 and 1 touchdown and Cole Pawson had 19 yards receiving. On the ground Brandon Stevenson chipped in 209 yards.
The Vikings' dynamic duo of Smith and Pawson proved to be unstoppable against Marine City, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Stevenson was a passing and rushing force as Marysville fell to the Mariners. Stevenson's favorite target this week was Pawson, who caught 3 passes for 19 yards.
6-foot-5 quarterback Will Bobek of Lake Shore is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,343. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Pete Patsalis. The Marine City star has 26 catches for 769 yards.
William Nesbitt's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Old Redford Academy.
