Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Cardinal Mooney Cougars walked away with it. They blew past the Thunder 65-38 on the road on Thursday. The win was just what Cardinal Mooney needed coming off of a 66-39 defeat in their prior game.
Cardinal Mooney got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Connor Heald out in front who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Schaeffer, who scored nine points.
Cardinal Mooney is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
Cardinal Mooney will be playing at home against Bradenton Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bradenton Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Cardinal Mooney likes a good challenge. Out-of-Door Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
