The Monacan Chiefs will be playing at home against the James River Midlothian Rapids at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Monacan will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Monacan suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Kempsville on the road and fell 80-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Monacan has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Monacan saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Walker Lloyd, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lloyd has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Bunn, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, James River Midlothian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manchester. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Monacan's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for James River Midlothian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Monacan didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against James River Midlothian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 83-77 win.
