West Rusk's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Judson Dotson, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Dotson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. West Rusk also got a significant boost from Noah Murphy, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
West Rusk's victory was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Edgewood, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6.

Redwater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 802nd, while West Rusk is ranked 332nd). As for Edgewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hooks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hooks will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
