After a big victory against Jackson last Friday, Mariner came back down to earth. Mariner ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-42 walloping at Mount Vernon's hands. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mariner of the 14-21 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head.
The defeat dropped Mariner's record to 2-4. The victory bumped Mount Vernon's record up to 5-1.
Next week Mariner take on Glacier Peak at Goddard Stadium at Mariner HS at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. As for Mount Vernon, they will face off against Jackson. Jackson took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse Mount Vernon's good fortune.
