Pioneer Valley League recap November 13, 2013
Center extended the longest winning streak in Pioneer Valley League this week by beating Placer, 34-19. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Colfax scaled the state rankings by moving to 315 from 345 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons were able to move up by beating Lincoln 49-28.
Colfax's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Wilson threw for 340 and 5 touchdowns and Chas Reisinger had 186 yards receiving. On the ground Tim Rawlins chipped in 143 yards. Kyle Bryant helped Colfax's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 115 yards.
Brad Botsford was a key player and the best on defense this week as Bear River beat Foothill. The 5-foot-11 senior forced 1 fumble, recorded 1 fumble and grabbed 1 sack.
Wilson put up the best numbers through the air as Tony Martello's team bested the Fighting Zebras. Wilson's favorite target this week was Reisinger, who caught 11 passes for 186 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Falcons' Wilson and Reisinger have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Wilson has thrown for 2,869 yards this season, while Reisinger has 63 catches for 1,058 yards. Center's Joe Swen leads the league in rushing yards with 1,253.
