The Mountain Home Tigers will square off against the Twin Falls Bruins at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Home is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
While Mountain Home's victory against Canyon Ridge wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Riverhawks on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Avery Blair made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mountain Home hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Twin Falls came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Bobcats 11-1. Considering the Bruins have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Mountain Home, Twin Falls also got a great game from a two-way player: Audrey Gourley. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Gourley has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Libby Torgrimson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Molly Hodge, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Twin Falls pushed their record up to 7-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain Home, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Mountain Home hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Twin Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Mountain Home might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Twin Falls in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
