The Walton Raiders were the 51-40 winner over the North Cobb Warriors when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Walton took a hard 49-31 fall against North Cobb on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Walton has scored all season.
Walton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Graycen Ehlen, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Alice Zhang was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Walton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for North Cobb, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walton will challenge Osborne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osborne will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 447th, while Walton is ranked 189th). As for North Cobb, they will head out on the road to challenge Kennesaw Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennesaw Mountain is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
