Grants lost against Valencia back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates took a 19-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. Even though they lost, the Pirates' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.6 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Delilah Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Olivia Toivanen was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Grants dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Valencia, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

Coincidentally, Grants and Valencia will both be playing St. Pius X the next time they take the field. The Pirates will head out to face the Sartans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
