The Delta Panthers entered their tilt with the Rifle Bears with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Delta claimed a resounding 57-18 win over the Bears at home. Delta has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Leading Delta to victory were Breezy Huff and Taylor Somers. Huff scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Somers dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Somers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Jolee Robinson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rifle struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Delta pulled down 25 offensive rebounds.
Delta pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.4 points. As for Rifle, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Delta will head out on the road to square off against the Sailors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Steamboat Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Panthers are ranked 63rd). Rifle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
