Softball Recap: Pigeon Forge Has No Trouble Against Austin-East

Pigeon Forge won the last time they faced Austin-East and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Pigeon Forge Tigers' way against the Austin-East Roadrunners as the Pigeon Forge Tigers made off with a 20-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Hope Blevins made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Blevins was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Six bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Yetti Rojas was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Nine bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Lexie Moore was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI.

Pigeon Forge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .903. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Pigeon Forge's record is now 2-0. As for Austin-East, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pigeon Forge will head out to challenge Oakdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Austin-East will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oneida at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th.
