After a string of three wins, the Lawrence County Red Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 79-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilson. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (61), Lawrence County still had to take the loss.
Jackson Smith and Zander Keepers certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Smith dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Keepers scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. The contest was Keepers' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jack Boyll was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lawrence County now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Wilson, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Lawrence County will head out on the road to face off against Hatton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson, they will be playing at home against St. John Paul II at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. John Paul II knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Wilson likes a good challenge.
