Elkhorn South has gone a perfect 4-0 against Papillion-LaVista South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Storm will challenge the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Elkhorn South strolled past Norfolk with points to spare, taking the game 34-19.

Jaydon Sutko continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 265 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Sutko is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season. Elkhorn South also got a significant boost from Joey Kiscoan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 124 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Elkhorn South was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 424 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Elkhorn South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kiscoan and Javon Quinn.
Meanwhile, Papillion-LaVista South waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 60-6 win over the Bulldogs. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-6.
Elkhorn South better keep an eye on Chester Mendoza. He was instrumental in Papillion-LaVista South's win, rushing for 114 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Jagger Cox, who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown.
Papillion-LaVista South's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. Joshua Thompson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up four sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Burke's side was Thompson, who picked up four sacks, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles (4.5 for loss).
Elkhorn South's record now sits at 7-1. As for Papillion-LaVista South, their record is now an identical 7-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Elkhorn South has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 266.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Papillion-LaVista South struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 170.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Elkhorn South beat Papillion-LaVista South 28-20 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
