On Friday, Michigan Lutheran Seminary strolled past Cass City with points to spare, taking the game 30-14. The Cardinals pushed the score to 27-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Hawks cut but never quite recovered from.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary had a senior duo take command as Andrew Miller rushed for 190 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry and Noah Reif rushed for 97 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Reif's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Miller and Reif. Miller also rushed for 190 rushing yards, which is notable because Michigan Lutheran Seminary is 5-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The Cardinals received some extra help from Tommy Luetzow, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Nouvel Catholic Central was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They took down Everest Collegiate 34-17. Nouvel Catholic Central's win was all the more impressive since Everest Collegiate were averaging only 14.22 points allowed on the season.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary better keep an eye on Owen Vance. He was instrumental in Nouvel Catholic Central's win, rushing for 280 yards and four scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Vance is now averaging an impressive 116.8 rushing yards per game.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Nouvel Catholic Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary came up short against Nouvel Catholic Central in their previous meeting back in September, falling 27-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Vance, who rushed for 140 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
