When it comes to explaining why Covenant Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alani Owens. Despite the final result, she scored 29 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Owens' tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeley Chaddick, who scored 9 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Covenant Christian and nudges their season record down to 6-7. As for Madisonville, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Covenant Christian will head out on the road to face off against Breckenridge at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Breckenridge is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Madisonville is on the road again on Friday and play against Mexia at 12:00 p.m. on December 8th. Mexia has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
