Baseball Game Preview: Snohomish Panthers vs. Meadowdale Mavericks

Snohomish has gone a perfect 7-0 against Meadowdale recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Snohomish's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Meadowdale has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Snohomish is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mountlake Terrace on Friday as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon Klein was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Snohomish's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Clark, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Snohomish always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Meadowdale and Shorewood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mavericks came up short against the Stormrays on Friday, falling 11-3.

Lance Moua was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Jagger Bishop also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meadowdale's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Snohomish, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Snohomish has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Meadowdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Snohomish came out on top in a nail-biter against Meadowdale when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
