5A District 6 recap September 10, 2013
Pasco's Jaquan Clower recorded the longest rushing play in 5A District 6 this season in his game against Fivay last week. Clower scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 76 on the day as his team beat the Falcons.
South Sumter scaled the state rankings by moving to 96 from 122 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders were able to make move up by defeating Crystal River 38-0.
Benjamin Chandler put up the best numbers through the air as Pasco bested Fivay. He finished with 4 completions for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns. Chandler's favorite target this week was Bowman Archibald, who caught 2 passes for 75 yards.
Ty Tanner was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 92 yards on 8 carries as Zephyrhills lost to Springstead. Teammate Lorine Parker added to the ground attack by rushing for 60 yards.
He went 4-7 with 0 interceptions.
Patterson was the best wideout in 5A District 6 this week as the Hornets lost to the Eagles. Patterson tallied 2 receptions for 71 yards. Marcus Allen helped Weeki Wachee's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 13 yards.
David Tinch provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Weeki Wachee lost to Springstead. He completed 7 passes for 107 yards and also ran for 17 yards.
Mark Lee's team's 6-foot-0 quarterback Tinch is the league leader in passing yards this season with 196. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nate Craig. The Pasco star has 4 catches for 114 yards.
Tom Mchugh's team took down Chris Taylor's team 50-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chandler during the win.
