The East Central Hornets and the Reagan Rattlers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the East Central Hornets had to settle for second. East Central took a serious blow against Reagan, falling 55-21. East Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.
Despite the defeat, East Central had strong showings from Austin Vivier, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and Isaiah Mackey, who threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Vivier's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Reagan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brad Jackson led the charge by throwing for 266 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Jeter Battles was another key contributor, picking up 148 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
East Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Reagan, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
East Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Reagan will take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westlake is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
