In what's become a running theme this season, Kent Denver gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 60-31 win over Eagle Ridge Academy at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-18.
Anya Peper continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Austin Duncan, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Jefferson Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They escaped with a win against St. Mary's Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 35-34.
Kent Denver pushed their record up to 17-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Jefferson Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Kent Denver took their win against Jefferson Academy in their previous matchup last Monday by a conclusive 54-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kent Denver since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
