After flying high against the Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy Cougars last Tuesday, the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans came back down to earth. Rio Lindo Adventist fell 54-41 to the Mustangs on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rio Lindo Adventist of the 56-40 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Rio Lindo Adventist still got an impressive performance from Jhordany Barcenas, who scored 16 points. Hunter McNunn was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Rio Lindo Adventist now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Summerfield Waldorf, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Rio Lindo Adventist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Summerfield Waldorf is on the road again on Friday and plays the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
