Solorio is 2-8 against Brooks since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Sun Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Solorio is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Solorio and Jones had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Sun Warriors fell 5-2 to the Eagles on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Sun Warriors have lost by exactly three runs.
Keiber Hernandez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Robert DeMateo was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brooks, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Simeon 12-6 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jacob Carrillo tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Mikayle Haji was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Brooks is 5-2 when Haji posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colin White, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double.
Brooks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Simeon only posted an OBP of .462.
Solorio's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Brooks, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Brooks' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Solorio hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Brooks, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Solorio's hitters?
Solorio suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Brooks in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Sun Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
