It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Star can now relate to. They fell just short of the Troy Trojans by a score of 12-11 on Friday. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Jace Irwin was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one triple. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Young, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

North Star's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Troy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

While North Star had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
