The Pershing County Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 58-44 bruising from Yerington. Pershing County has struggled against Yerington recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Pershing County saw an underclassman step up: Amare Rosas scored 14 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rosas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Reitz, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Noah Thom, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds for Yerington. Thom is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kp Picotte jr, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Pershing County's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Yerington, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.
Pershing County will head out on the road to face off against North Tahoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
