Softball Recap: Fort Campbell Gets the Win

Fort Campbell came out on top against Heritage Christian Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Falcons walked away with a 15-12 win over the Warriors. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Fort Campbell got a massive performance out of Hannah Stewart, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Stewart a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Backes, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Fort Campbell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fort Campbell's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Fort Campbell will head out on the road to square off against University Heights at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mayfield at 5:30 p.m. on May 6.
