Timpview hasn't had much luck against Spanish Fork recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to face off against the Dons at 3:30 p.m. Timpview has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Timpview lost 15-2 to Pleasant Grove on Thursday.
Timpview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maycie Branin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Beth Colton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, Spanish Fork entered their tilt with Payson on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Dons, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Sydney Worthen and Paisley Ross did most of the damage at the plate: Worthen went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ross went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Worthen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Overturf, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Spanish Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Timpview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Spanish Fork, their record now sits at 8-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Timpview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Spanish Fork struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Timpview suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Spanish Fork in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
