The Booker Tornadoes entered their tilt with the Bayshore Bruins with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Booker simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Bayshore 82-44 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Booker has posted since December 11, 2023.
Booker's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamareon Ruffin, who scored 15 points. Jovan Palavra was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Despite the loss, Bayshore still got an impressive performance from William Strawbridge, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Strawbridge is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keshawn Parhm, who scored six points along with six steals.
Booker has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Bayshore, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Booker won't have much time to rest: their next game is against DeSoto County at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. DeSoto County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 760th, while Booker is ranked 277th). As for Bayshore, they will head out on the road to square off against Brandon Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brandon Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
