In what's become a running theme this season, the Lincoln Southeast Knights gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Westview 70-47. Winning may never get old, but Lincoln Southeast sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Lincoln Southeast had a senior duo take command as Jake Hilkemann scored 22 points and Taye Moore scored 19 points along with five steals. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Deng Giet was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Westview still got an impressive performance from Tayvin Murphy, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Murphy has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Griggs, who scored eight points.
Lincoln Southeast is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Westview, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln Southeast will take on Norfolk at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Norfolk is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Westview, they will be playing at home against Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena Vista is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
