Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Copiah Academy Colonels walked away with it. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over Lamar on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Copiah Academy sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Despite the loss, Lamar still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Bond, who threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tripp Morrow, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Copiah Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Lamar, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Copiah Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Adams County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Adams County Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
