The Statesville Greyhounds will head out to challenge the Hough Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Statesville has given up an average of 70.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Statesville is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They fell 66-55 to Pine Lake Prep.

Despite the loss, Statesville got top-tier performance from Manuel (MJ) Gladden, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 22 points and five steals. The contest was Gladden's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Jordan Williams was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hough). They took their matchup last Tuesday with ease, bagging an 81-48 victory over Porter Ridge. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.
Hough's win came from a few key players Statesville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tre Ratliff, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 24 points along with seven boards and four steals. What's more, he posted four assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Byers, who shot 62% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.
Hough was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The win got Hough back to even at 2-2. As for Statesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Statesville hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 58.7 points per game. However, it's not like Hough struggles in that department as they've been averaging 70.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Statesville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hough in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
