The biggest upset of the week belonged to Palatka, who took down 198th ranked Nease, 40-12. De'Abrie Smith threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 110 yards in the win.
The Panthers moved up to 175 from 248 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 4. A 40-12 win over the Panthers helped Palatka improve its standing.
Justin Johnson was the best wideout in the league this week as Nease fell to Willie Offord's team. Johnson tallied three receptions for 66 yards. Turner Ashby helped Nease's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Cole Mazza was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 145 yards on 26 carries as Ponte Vedra lost to the Panthers. Reece Andrews also contributed to the rushing game with 93 yards on the ground.
6-foot-4 quarterback Matt Deegan of the Sharks is the league leader in passing yards this season with 557. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, the Panthers' Ulysses Bryant has rushed for 657 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jaquille Melton. The Palatka star has six catches for 199 yards.
Ponte Vedra extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Matanzas, 34-3. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
