The Countryside Cougars will face off against the Jesuit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Countryside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Jesuit's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Countryside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Clearwater 8-6. Eight seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Countryside got a big performance out of Chase Hilldreth, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Hilldreth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Sadlowski, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jesuit). Everything went their way against Brandon on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-0 victory. Give the Tigers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Brady Hoar looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Robby Santana was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent DeCarlo, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Jesuit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Countryside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Jesuit, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Countryside was able to grind out a solid win over Jesuit in their previous matchup back in April of 2018, winning 4-1. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
