Franklin-Simpson will take on Madisonville-North Hopkins in each of the teams' third playoff game on Friday. The stakes are high as these two teams are all in, each fighting to extend its postseason success.
Franklin-Simpson earned some more postseason success in their contest last Friday. They put a hurting on Allen County-Scottsville to the tune of 56-20. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 41-13 advantage.
Meanwhile, when you finish with 206 more yards than your opponent like Madisonville-North Hopkins did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They came out on top against Hopkinsville by a score of 28-21. Jeriah Hightower had a stellar game for the Maroons as he rushed for 174 yards and two TDs on 21 carries. Hightower has been a consistent playmaker for Madisonville-North Hopkins as this was the 12th good game in a row from him.
Madisonville-North Hopkins' defense was a presence as well, and it made life painful for the QB and embarrassed Hopkinsville's offensive line for a total of six sacks. It was a group effort with six picking up one sack apiece.
Franklin-Simpson came out on top in a nail-biter against Madisonville-North Hopkins when the two teams last met in last November, sneaking past 12-10. The Wildcats' victory shoved the Maroons out of the playoffs, so expect the team to have a target on their back in this one.
