Rise Academy came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 70-69 photo finish over the Harrisonburg HomeSchool Lightning. 70 seems to be a good number for the Guardians as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Rise Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trevonte Atkins out in front who posted 20 points along with five assists and five boards. Atkins has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Seaborn, who scored 20 points and seven rebounds.

Rise Academy will face off against TPLS Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rise Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matchups -- so hopefully TPLS Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Harrisonburg HomeSchool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rise Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
