Basketball Recap: Alexis Clark Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Freeport

Ponce De Leon won the last time they faced Freeport and things went their way on Monday too. The Ponce De Leon Pirates strolled past the Freeport Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 51-33.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ponce De Leon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Clark, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Clark has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiyann Alford, who posted 11 points.

Ponce De Leon was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freeport only racked up seven assists.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmine Miles, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Ludwig, who had eight points.

Ponce De Leon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Freeport, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15.

Ponce De Leon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-18 victory against Arnold on the 27th. As for Freeport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-43 loss against Crestview on the 28th.
