Despite their defeat, East Chapel Hill saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Stephanie Proa?o, who scored seven points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Lauren Steiner was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Hillside gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Riverside-Durham 59-11 at home. With Hillside ahead 32-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Hillside can attribute much of their success to Kayden Sims, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Samiyah Barker, who scored 16 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sims has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alima Shah, who scored eight points along with two steals.
East Chapel Hill has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Hillside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: East Chapel Hill have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hillside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
