Basketball Recap: Sierra Grande Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Sierra Grande had won ten straight home games dating back to last season and Aron Ojeda did his part to make it 11 on Thursday. The Sierra Grande Panthers came out on top against the Center Vikings by a score of 54-43 with plenty of help from Ojeda, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Rolando Najera was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six boards and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Sierra Grande has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points over those games. Center has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10-1 record this season.

Sierra Grande has already played their next game, a 53-40 defeat against Sanford on the 1st. As for Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-30 loss against Crested Butte on the 1st.
