 On the hitting side,  Drew Olson was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Hayfield's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was  Jack Ross, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Meanwhile, South County lost  10-2 to Lake Braddock on Thursday. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Stallions in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost three in a row.
 Hayfield's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 5-4. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for South County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
