The Collinsville Kahoks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Belleville East 51-22 at home. The win was just what Collinsville needed coming off of a 71-30 loss in their prior contest.
Collinsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Talesha Gilmore, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. The matchup was Gilmore's 19th in a row with at least ten points. CARSYN MOAD was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Collinsville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Belleville East, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-12.
Collinsville will challenge Highland at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Belleville East is on the road again on Saturday and play against Mater Dei at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Mater Dei presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belleville East in Illinois (Mater Dei is ranked tenth, while Belleville East is ranked 318th).
