The Jackson Academy Raiders came tearing into Tuesday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Jackson Prep by a score of 52-39. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Jackson Academy has scored all season.
Jackson Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcus Goodloe out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Schyler Chambers, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Jackson Academy pushed their record up to 27-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jackson Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.
Jackson Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Mississippi (Madison-Ridgeland Academy is ranked second, while the Raiders are ranked first). As for Jackson Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
