Columbia Academy has gone a perfect 9-0 against Middle Tennessee Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Columbia Academy put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They put the hurt on Grace Christian Academy with a sharp 17-2 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Anna Brewer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lila Pulley was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Rory Rhoades also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Columbia Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .235.
Meanwhile, Middle Tennessee Christian came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past The Webb School 15-6 on Tuesday. Considering the Cougars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Like Columbia Academy, Middle Tennessee Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Kodi Hewitt. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Hewitt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Allena Reynolds was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. Blair Harrison was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Columbia Academy pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, their record is now 7-9.
Middle Tennessee Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Columbia Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for Middle Tennessee Christian, though, as they've only averaged .213. Will they be able to contain Columbia Academy's hitters?
Columbia Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Middle Tennessee Christian in their previous meeting on Friday, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
