The Maiden Blue Devils will square off against the Foard Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maiden will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Maiden is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 12-9 win over Hickory on Friday. With that victory, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Mariah Khang and Maddy Clontz did most of the damage at the plate: Khang went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Clontz went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Those five hits gave Clontz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brenna Halsey, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Foard strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Bandys as they made off with a 14-1 win. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
K Sigmon spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Foard got a big performance out of Addy Lael, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. A Stillwell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Foard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
The victory got Maiden back to even at 2-2. As for Foard, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Maiden has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Foard struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Maiden was able to grind out a solid victory over Foard when the teams last played back in March of 2022, winning 11-7. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
