The Parrish Community Bulls will take on the Steinbrenner Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Parrish Community is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Plant as they made off with an 8-1 win. Considering the Bulls have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Emmaline Van Beck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alysa Jones, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyndal France, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Parrish Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plant only posted a batting average of .087.
Meanwhile, Steinbrenner had just enough and edged out Palm Harbor University 4-2 on Thursday.
Steinbrenner also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lilly Patton gave up just two earned runs on three hits.
At the plate, Jenna Fortenberry was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Callie Bergen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Parrish Community's victory bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Steinbrenner, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.
Steinbrenner's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Parrish Community has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Steinbrenner, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Parrish Community's hitters?
Parrish Community beat Steinbrenner 3-0 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Bulls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
